With its roots in an Italian polka called ‘Oggi Nevica’ (today it snows), Reel Beatrice, also known as ‘Carnival’, just cried out for a nice gypsy interpretation. Halfway between a reel and a gallop, it pairs nicely with An Caipin Anairt (The Linen Cap), a traditional reel cataloged by O’Neil in the 19th century.
